Workplace Changes Workshops ...being held in Manly, North Sydney, Parramatta, Newcastle and Canberra
On 1 January 2010, the final elements of the new national workplace relations system came into effect, making the Fair Work system fully operational. In addition NSW, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia have now referred their industrial relations powers to the Commonwealth. The referral of powers will have an impact on those businesses operating as sole traders and partnerships. The National Employment Standards (NES) and the Modern Awards are some of the key changes that have come into operation. In our industry we now have two key awards – Restaurant Industry Award and the Hospitality Industry (General) Award which will impact on your business and your employees. 20 JANUARY 2010 The Sydney Morning Herald Cellar Door - Showcasing the best of NSW produce Fairfax Events in conjunction with NSW Wine is pleased to announce The Sydney Morning Herald Cellar Door to be held on Sunday 14 March, 2010 as the lead event for NSW Wine Week. NSW Wine Week aims to promote the diversity of the NSW Wine regions. In 2009, over 20,000 people made their way to Hyde Park South to taste wines from over 110 Wineries. Crowds also enjoyed food from over 35 caterers and live music. In 2010, they are aiming to showcase the best of NSW produce with regional restaurants and food businesses offering regional food platters that people can enjoy with wine from the same region. They are also encouraging local restaurants to use regional produce in their menus. The event will be supported by a significant advertising and editorial campaign in The Sydney Morning Herald, Good Living, Spectrum, smh.com.au and radio. Applications are now open for potential stallholders. Please complete the application form and return it by Friday 22 January, 2010. All successful applicants will be notified by January 29, 2010.
