CATERING JUDGING CRITERIA


All caterers are judged across a broad spectrum of criteria which is applicable to their particular category. These pointers are a guide to assist caterers in how to develop sound practices and service based on what assessment criteria they will be evaluated on.

Caterers will be assessed on one event per category entered.

 

THE FUNCTION

  • Customer Arrival
  • Function Area Setup
  • The Presented Food
  • The Function such as decor, ambience and appeal
  • Service of the Function
  • Food Service such as staff handling and efficiency
  • Staff includes appearance, grooming, attention to detail, discretion

THE OUTCOMES

  • The extent to which the client enjoyed themselves / success of the function / company
    objectives were met

OVERALL ASSESSMENT

  • To what extent is the operation efficiently run?
  • To what extent do professional standards of practice appear to be in place?
  • What are the strengths of the caterer and to what degree do they possess them?
  • To what degree do the caterers have processes in place to overcome any identified
    weaknesses or problems in the preparation for and the execution of a function?
